Marimekko was founded in 1951 by the Finnish dressmaker Armi Ratia. The name of the company is composed of Armi's second name – Maria – and the Finnish word for dress – mekko. The company first gained great popularity in the 1960s, especially through the designer Maija Isola, who also created the patterns used here.

Mansikka is the Finnish word for strawberry. Both of these summery patterns have the word in their names: The 1967 pattern "Mansikka" and the 1971 pattern "Mansikkavuoret", which translates as Strawberry Mountains. The patterns for these wallpapers come from Marimekko's Maripedia print library, where Marimekko has been making all their patterns available for a few months now.

The wallpapers can be downloaded for all devices. In addition, a file in .heic format is available especially for Macs. With these wallpapers, the fresh summer also comes into the hot home office – or onto the mobile phone that you have put aside to spend your Juhannus holiday in Finland at the Mökki by the lake. Hyvää Juhannusta! Glad midsommar!
